Good morning, my faithful prayer warriors! How are you doing this fine Friday morning? I am doing extremely well since I have finally gotten a moment to just relax. This week has been crazy busy. Everything is kind of a blur. Typing Brian's 10-page paper for seminary (he did the work; I did the typing); learning how to use and send an expense report (new way!); helping kids with homework each evening between PT and classes; doctor's appointment; lesson plans & creating pages for classwork/practice; lab work for my blood; and the list goes on! Other than my allergies because of the dirt/dust blowing in our sliding glass door and windows and the heat of the day making me groggy, all is well.
On Tuesday, my leg had some swelling from top to bottom. This alerted Lourdes, my precious PT. She iced me down and told me to rest; she wanted us to call my cardiologist to see if this was normal. Brian called the intern, and he returned our call at midnight (he'd had an emergency call-out) with my doctor's instructions. Basically, this is somewhat normal (as long as I wasn't having pain in the area of the blood clot) because I was "restarting" my exercises from being on "hold" last week. Please pray for complete healing/dissolving of the clot safely.
On Wednesday, I had an appointment to see my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Suarez. I think he was a little surprised that I am limping as much as I am. He looked at my leg, and the healing of the incisions are very good. They are slowly beginning to fade/smooth over. I am still having issues with my inner ankle, so please continue to pray for complete restoration of my ankle and tendons. Dr. Suarez says I need to walk, walk, walk to stretch everything (tendon) back out, and I should be a normal woman again. :) I don't like to take too many Tylenol, but I can't take Ibuprofen because of the clot.
Skylar and Sydney are doing well in school. They are tired in the evenings because of March starting with such a bang! School + our classes + 1 hour workout in swimming 2 days of the week (which makes their day 30 minutes longer)!!! Pray for them to finish up their 2nd semester well, growing to be like Him more each day.
In addition to completing tests and papers for classes, Brian has been VERY busy getting everything together for our hometown team, which will be traveling on SATURDAY to Peru!!!! They should arrive late Saturday night, and the plan is to travel straight from the airport to Canta. Please pray for safe trips for them! Please keep the drivers (Brian and Josue), translators (JB, JP, Janeth, & Aracelli), theteam (Chase, Matt, Kayela, Courtney, Jonathan, Lathan, and Tianna), and the pastor from Canta city (Miguel) in your prayers each day (health, safety, and to be led by the Spirit). Please keep the people of San Buenaventura, San Lorenzo, San Jose, and Viscas lifted up; pray for salvation to those who didn't accept and for growth and knowledge in those who did or will choose to follow Him. This will be the 2nd trip to the adopted area; many accepted Christ during our first trip in October. The team will be storying from the Bible, training in discipleship, and sharing God's love with the villagers.
Pray for the kids and myself, as we will stay in Lima. Pray for our health, safety, and strength.
Thanks again to our prayer warriors. You play a VITAL role in His kingdom work! We love you!
