A Productive Day?

This morning, Sy. woke us up at 7 AM wanting to know if she could get dressed. Her papa was going to pick her up at 8 or 8:30. She was READY to go! Sk. was going also to help his papa work on the farm.

After they were picked up, B. & I touch-up cleaned the house. Wow--it's nice to have a clean house. It's also nice to know that everyone in the household is pitching in to actually keep it clean!

Today, we had two couples come to look at the house. B. put an ad in the papers this past Wed. Both seemed enthusiastic, but we will let the Lord work it all out, whether they are the ones He sent today or not.  He is in control! After all, this is His journey that He's gone out before us and is taking us on to follow Him.

Our Spanish lessons were productive this week. We all are thoroughly enjoying the new information. Our teacher spoke almost entirely in Spanish to us Thurs. night. At first, it seemed a little overwhelming, but seemed to kick in after listening a few minutes. Fun, fun, fun!!

Thank God that He is in Us & is For Us

Ever had a "blah" day? I think that would describe my day perfectly. Sometimes people have a way with words. I guess I am having a pity party because of some unkind words that came my way. I'm human. I will live and persevere.

B. & Sk. went to the Baptist Men's Banquet this evening. They had a good time. Sk. won a gift certificate to Hook, Line, & Sinker! I asked if he was going to take me out to eat. He made a joke about I could pay for my meal.  Children!!! 

Sy. feel asleep around 6:30 PM!!  Wow! I had a free evening. I spent some time reviewing Spanish. I am picking up on some words. The pronunciation is the killer for me, with my Southern drawl. 

Even though I had a "blah" day, I am reminded, as am listening to my MP3 player, that we should thank God because He is in us, and He's for us. There WILL be disappointments from others, expectedly, and from life in general because we all are human and are sinners. However, we CAN look up, and should be joyful, no matter the circumstances, because of our Savior. If we are HIS, we can look forward to our futures. Praise God!

An Exciting Sunday

We had an exciting Sunday, to say the least!

Our Sunday School class was filled to the brim. That's a GREAT thing! Delia does a good job, and it's great fellowshiping with other classmates.

The service was about saying "I'm Sorry." I really enjoyed the teaching of if you say, "I am sorry IF I offended you," as being a half-way apology. Always take out the IF.

Directly after, we drove to Mobile to Cracker Barrel. MMMM.  I enjoyed some dumplings, my favorite--fried apples, and turnips. I think everyone had dumplings at our table. They were delicious! We stopped by the local Dollar Tree so I could pick up 6 cans of silly string.....HE HE HE.

Several of my students had asked if they could go with me to KidStuf. I had been pleading with them for months, and usually they cancelled going at the last minute. Well, not this Sunday! B. had to take a separate vehicle to practice for KidStuf, since he played a role in this week's theme, "Being Fair." It was a good thing, because I ended up taking 5 kids, not including my own, with me!  They all were from 5th grade, except for one sibling, who is in fourth. Now, you can imagine the reason I stopped by to get silly string. They've "surprised" me a few times during the year, so it was MY turn to show them a little love.

We had an enjoyable time. I did get to show them a little extra attention with the silly string.  We all went to McDonald's directly afterward, so we could treat them for going with us. I pray that these kids will grow up putting God first in their lives. I hope that they see Jesus in me, and the impact He has had on my life.

An Easy Day

WOO HOO! It was nice to have an "off" Saturday. I only had to attend to minor household chores. It felt like I was on vacation. Poor B. had to work.

Our 8 year old niece spent Fri. night with us. Basically, we just "hung around" today. It was very nice. Sy., Bre., & I made bead creations...a ring for Bre. and a bracelet for Sy. Bre.'s fake nails kept getting in the way, so I had to help her put the beads on. Sy. kept dumping all of hers off, so we redid hers several times before finally tying! Sk. enjoyed watching tv and playing checkers with Bre. We returned her home after 1 PM.

B. and I watched a movie. It was pretty cool to just sit back and relax. B. gets phone calls every day about the house. We are just sitting back and waiting until God makes His move. After all, it is His call and His move. Our lives are His.

Typed a L. Arts test for tomorrow while B. reviewed the paperwork that I had finished for Costa Rica language school

Guess I better hit the sack. It's 11:30 PM. 5 AM will be here soon. I still have to shower.  UGH.

Tired-- So, So Tired!

We have worked hard sifting through all this junk. Sy. has been sick, in addition to our cleaning. We are exhausted. We keep thinking of the scripture that says to work not for man, but work as if you are working for the Lord. It has definitely taken that motivation to get us picking through all this junk. I've come to the conclusion that hoarding and packing away all this stuff has got to be a sin. There are poor people in China that would love to have some of our stuff that we haven't seen for years because it's hiding behind other clutter!!! 

Well, at least we got it ready for showing.  Whew.  I will be proud to go back to work because I might get to rest a little from this hard labor.  LOL. B. agrees too! 

Continue to pray for Sy. She keeps getting a low grade temp. at night.  Otherwise, she is a little sneezy, but nothing major.

Pray for God's will with the selling process. He knows best!!

Slowly Coming Together

Sy. is still running a fever when it's time for more med. She's coughing just a little, but nothing major. It must be something viral or just a sinus infection. Continue to pray for her health.

B. worked outside all day long. We had the huge pile cleared beside the house to improve the looks of the house. He'd had the trees cut last year, before we applied for IMB, in hopes to build a huge shop. Well, God wanted differently...for us to follow Him, so the shop idea was dropped, and the money was spent on short term trips for Him. The pile of cut lumber remained. He'd tried burning it, but much still remained. With everything gone, it looks great now! B. planted grass, and he worked in the yard.

I hit cleaning a closet and and about to hit some more. I've never seen as much giftwrap and bags crammed into one place before.  HAHAH.  WHY are we packrats!!?  I hope this is a lesson that we will have learned from so that it does not happen again.

As I close for tonight, I just want to remind you of something--God is so good....all the time!!!!!!!!!!! 

The Week is Over With

Sorry that I haven't typed in a while... Life can be so busy. Hmmm....let me catch you up on this week.

What did I/we do???  Haha...

• We're hitting the skills hard at school. I want everything to be covered when I leave.

• Sk. & Sy. spent the night at Granny & Papa's on Tues. I went to WalMart and did the dreaded shopping for food.  Directly after, B. & I drove to Gulfport to return some Spanish books to Barnes & Noble that the IMB said we needed (at first), but then said they'd furnish them at FPO. Tues. was the last day they'd refund us, so we HAD to go. We also patroned Lifeway while there. We ate at Cracker Barrel. We were the only ones there when we arrived. We got to sit directly in front of the fireplace. It was kind of nice because I am not used to it being cold again here.

• Sk. & Sy. had Spanish lessons on Wed. before church. They are loving it. Ms. Monica is doing a fabulous job. The kids studied  throughout the week and with their Granny & Papa the nights she/they spent. She taught them a very cute song in Spanish to help them learn introductions to people.  

• Sydney got sick Thursday. She's running a fever and has a soupy nose. I stayed home today with her. She is going through a stage. Skylar went through this stage at an earlier age. She thinks she is THE boss, and what she says MUST go!  I think everyone has helped her believe this, so it is VERY instilled in her brain. She does not want to take medicine. I've had to chase, threaten to call the doctor, and bribe her to take it. Whipping Sy. does not phase her. She will bend over and take it like a big girl and not cry a wink! TOTALLY opposite from Sk.--if he has to get a spanking, it KILLS him. Children can be SO opposite. They definitely are!!  Of course, they are both VERY special in their own ways.

• Ok. I have been lazy the past few nights. I have got to get back to cleaning out my clothes. I think it will really be FREEING when I've weeded and cleaned out some more. Where I used to think more was the best, now, less seems so much better.  HAHAH. 

• There have been a few calls about the house. We are praying God's will. He has definitely blessed us with it for the last 9 years. B . prayed the sweetest prayer the other night...that He will send someone that will enjoy it and be blessed by it as much as we have.

• Oh, one other thing--we finally made time to take a lesson of Spanish on Rosetta Stone last night, since we had to cancel our lesson with Ms. Monica because of Sy. being sick. It's very good. I am praying that God will let us absorb it like a sponge and be able to use it for His purposes in a mighty way!!

Rested Up & Ready to Go

B. stood the For Sale sign in our driveway late Sat. night after he finally got off work. It seems so final. Had we stuck the sign down 6 months ago, I would have probably cried my heart out. God has carried me beyond that point now. Sun. morning, the kids asked about it. They wanted to know where we would live. When I told them the camper (which we had already discussed previously), they were very excited.  All they can think of is "camping out."

Today was a fairly decent Monday. The kids at school are fun as usual. The learning is ON! We have a final countdown going on until spring break, which is only a few weeks before state testing. The skills should be covered, and I will be on my way to Virginia, God's willing, directly after the break.

Sy. spent the night with Granny & Pap. Wow--it's so quiet here. I've piddled in the clothes some more, and finished grading tests and posting them.

It's almost 11 PM. I guess I better get ready for bed. 5 AM will be here soon enough!

A Dreary Saturday

Last night, 3 of our friends invited us to fellowship with them. We went to a monster truck, lawnmower, and four-wheeler racing show north of us. There were also 2 motorbike stuntmen there who jumped many feet into the air to land on another flatform.  We had a great time.

Today, B. had to work. I piddled on the house all day long. The kids were cooped inside all day, so that was not fun. They got on each other's nerves for most of the day.
